Service Summary

ITS supports a variety of public domain and site-licensed software to the Mason Community. Individual departments purchase and administer the distribution of other licenses; see the Software Listing for specific information. The University has a Microsoft Campus Agreement for a suite of software for use by faculty and staff on university-owned or leased equipment. Additionally, faculty, staff, and students have personal-use options under the university Microsoft Campus Agreement.

University-owned software may only be installed on university-owned or leased equipment.

Architecture Standards Review Board (ASRB)

The Architecture Standards Review Board (ASRB) is responsible for reviewing, verifying compliance and providing recommendations with regards to new/upgrade software or hardware procurement projects.

In order to comply with Mason's procurement policy, the ASRB requires the submission of Business Case Project Summary.

The purpose of the Business case project summary is to communicate the business need to ITS. The University and ITS may already have supported software or hardware available that can be used. Additionally, ITS may have existing contacts with various vendors which can expedite the procurement process.
