Mission Statement

The mission of Business Intelligence Group (BI Group) is to provide our George Mason University customers with data, expertise, and solutions that allow them to easily and accurately access information for reporting, analysis, and decision making needs across all campuses.

BI Group Services

The George Mason University Enterprise Data Warehouse consists of a number of data marts. A data mart is a subset of organized data that focuses on a specific subject area. The data marts the BI Group maintains include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Procurement (also known as the PPDM, Procurement Pipeline Data Mart)
  • Admissions
  • Finance
  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Student
  • Student Accounts

BI Group Applications

To provide the Mason community with the best data and reporting experience, the BI Group is also responsible for implementing and maintaining the university-wide web-based Business Intelligence reporting tool MicroStrategy.
