Avaya Voicemail and Key Features

New Telecommunications Vendor

Mason’s current telephone system is end-of-life, and with a workforce increasingly dispersed, a new solution is needed. Mason has selected a new telecommunications vendor, Vonage, Inc, which delivers advanced features (e.g., mobile applications, ring/accept calls on any device, presence awareness) and integrates into Mason’s tools (e.g., Office 365). Avaya Key Features

Voicemail Keypad Prompts 

Voicemail Keypad Prompts for your Mason-owned Avaya phone.

Access Voicemail from Off-Campus 

The CallPilot voice mail system can be accessed from anywhere off-campus. To access from off-campus: 

  • Dial 703-993-7900; you will hear, “CallPilot, mailbox?" 
  • Dial the 5-digit mailbox you are trying to access, followed by # 
  • Dial voicemail password, followed by # 

Express Messaging 

Express messaging allows you to bypass the rings and go straight to leaving a message. To use Express Messaging:  

  • Dial 703-993-7901; you will hear, “CallPilot, mailbox?" 
  • Dial the 5-digit mailbox where you'd like to leave a message, followed by # 

Find Me Feature* 

THIS FEATURE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR NEW REQUESTS. 

The Find Me feature reduces the chance of missing important calls. With this feature, you can program up to 5 external phone numbers (such as your cell number, your home phone, another office extension, etc.) so that if a user reaches your voicemail, instead of leaving a message, they can choose to "find you" and the call will ring through to these other numbers. 

Voicemail to email* 

THIS FEATURE IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR NEW REQUESTS. 

The voicemail to email feature sends an email to you with a WAV attachment anytime you receive a voicemail message. This allows you to access and play your voicemail message from your mobile device without having to call into the telephone voicemail system. This feature is available for a one-time charge of $65.00. 

*Denotes a premium service and additional associated fees. 

Accessing Your Voicemail

Step 1

From on-campus: Dial 3–7900 (or press your Message key)

From off-campus: Dial 703-993-7900

You will hear, “CallPilot, mailbox.”

Step 2

Enter your five (5) digit extension (3-xxxx).

Step 3

Press #

Step 4

Enter your temporary password (12 plus your 5-digit extension number).

Step 5

Press #

Note: After you log in for the first time, you will be prompted to change your temporary password.

Changing Your Temporary Password

Step 1

When prompted, enter a new 4-16 digit password.

Step 2

Press #

Step 3

Repeat your new password.

Step 4

Press #
