This spring, ITS will migrate the current enterprise file storage system MESA M: Drive, which is near end-of-life, to Microsoft 365 (M365).

This change leverages our existing Microsoft environment and will allow for real-time collaboration, increased productivity with industry-standard tools, and enhanced knowledge-sharing online.

There will be multiple file storage options made available through M365, including OneDrive, Microsoft (MS) Teams, and SharePoint Document Libraries. In addition, ITS is developing a new on-premise file system for special use cases that may not fit the M365 platform. To learn more about these options, see File Storage Services.

ITS will begin transferring individual MESA mydata files to Microsoft OneDrive this month. Following this first phase, shared department folders will be migrated. Impacted users will receive direct communications on how to prepare and what to expect.
