As a part of a data cleanup effort with a vendor, an alert was inadvertently triggered that sent an email to Mason Microsoft 365 users. The emails were a result of a misconfiguration. ITS engineers will leverage multiple layers of review for each setting, preventing future accidental emails.

As a part of a data cleanup effort with a vendor, ITS inadvertently triggered an email to Mason Microsoft 365 users. Email is from AvePoint Online Services, Subject: Rule Violation – ‘Remove Shadow Users’ in ‘DEV Test Policy’. This email is not a phish. This email may be disregarded at this time.
