WELCOME to the ITS – ESG Data Governance (DG) Office! We provide the resources and information on the management of data at Mason.
Data Governance seeks to continuously improve the understanding, accessibility, and quality of the university’s valuable data assets so that users can effectively conduct day-to-day operations, strategically plan, and advance Mason’s teaching, research, and public service missions.

To ensure University Data is effectively and efficiently accessible across the university with a shared understanding and common business language supporting authoritative information sources.
Goals
Data Governance goals are aligned with an established foundation built on industry standards and support the enhancement of data accessibility; eliminate inconsistencies in collection, processing, and reporting; emulate best practices in data management; create efficiencies by increasing consistency, coordinating analytical resources, and eliminating duplication efforts.
