Impact of the change on users:

All equipment provisioned for power redundancy, with connections to both A-side and B-side power, should not experience a service interruption as the A-side power bus will remain powered on for the duration of the installation. High-density system racks in Row 5 North (research) will be proactively taken down as a precautionary measure.

All system administrators are encouraged to verify their power configuration by Friday, January 5, and engage Facilities and Infrastructure Operations by telephone at 703-993-3355 if they have questions or anticipate any service problems.

ITS will be on-site to ensure that critical systems are monitored.

Reason for the change:

The B-side power bus in the Datacenter will be shut down to install new power gear breakers. (ID # 272454)
