Brief Campuswide Network Outages on Sunday, February 12

On Sunday, February 12, from 7 to 11 a.m., there will be intermittent outages, typically 5 to 10 minutes, of the Wi-Fi and wired networks at all Mason campuses and locations while Information Technology Services (ITS) conducts important maintenance. Service outages are necessary to address known security vulnerabilities.

Impact on Users
During this maintenance, all Wi-Fi and wired networks will be intermittently unavailable. As a result, any service, application, or website hosted or authenticated at Mason campuses or locations, including voice-over-IP (VoIP), call center phones, and Microsoft Teams calling, will also experience brief outages that may impact users’ connectivity temporarily.

Cell phone service will not be impacted. ResNet networks in the residence halls will be available; however, the following services will be intermittently available in the residence halls: eduroam Wi-Fi, key card access updates, and solstice pods.

Colocated-Server Admins
Single-connect servers may be unreachable during the maintenance period.

ITS staff will restore service as quickly as possible and appreciate your patience. If you have any questions or experience issues connecting to the Wi-Fi or wired networks after this maintenance, please contact the ITS Support Center at 703-993-8870 or Request Help.
