Initial Symptoms
Loss of wired and wireless connectivity within Bull Run Hall Room 147.Faculty and Students using Bull Run Hall Room 147 were without internet connectivity for the duration of the outage.
Root Cause Analysis
Cause
Spike in DHCP packets were sent to switch.
Resolution
Increased limit rate on uplink. We have this configure on all Cisco switches but not the Enterasys switches.
Prevention
Implement the same configuration on Enterasys switches.
