Important Update Regarding the 2022 IT Security Awareness Program

Information Technology Services (ITS) is making important changes to George Mason University’s annual IT Security Awareness Training Program.

New this year, employees who fail to complete the IT Security Awareness training by the deadline, Wednesday, November 16, will have their Mason accounts (NetID) disabled until the training is completed. If your account is disabled, you will need to contact the ITS Support Center to re-enable the account and take the training. Supervisors and managers will be notified about delinquent employees two weeks in advance of accounts being disabled.

You will receive a notification from MasonLEAPS on Wednesday, September 28, when the training opens.

Mason’s Information Technology Security Standard requires all employees, associates, and affiliates to complete IT security training annually. The training is designed to protect Mason’s IT systems, resources, and employee information.
