ITS received reports that network services were unavailable at the Potomac Science Center remote site.

Impact to Mason: 

Potomac Science Center was without wired, wireless, or Voice over IP services.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS
Cause: 

The outage was due to a down fiber line in the service providers network affecting the circuit providing internet access to the Potomac science center remote site.

Resolution: 

The service provider deployed technicians to repair 108 strands of fiber. Internet service to Potomac Science center was subsequently restored following the repair.

Prevention: 

Vendor issue, no method of prevention for Mason.
