The 1st floor of Student Union 1 was without internet (wired or wireless) service which also included Voice over IP service.

The switch showed down in the monitoring system.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS
Cause: 

Switch failure, Network and Security Operations are looking into why the switch failed.

Resolution: 

Switch was rebooted.

Prevention: 

Scheduled yearly reboots have been planned.
