Connect to Wi-Fi Calling

Wi-Fi Calling is a carrier-provided feature that allows you to make phone calls and send text messages where Wi-Fi is available but cellular coverage is inadequate. You can call and text (SMS/MMS) as you do on the cellular network.

Wi-Fi Calling can be used on a university-owned device or on your personal device. You may need to make minor configuration adjustments on your cell phone to activate Wi-Fi Calling. Once enabled, cell phones automatically use Wi-Fi Calling when needed.

Wi-Fi Calling & Emergency Services

During setup, you will be prompted to include an address for E911 emergency call routing. Please keep this information current. If Wi-Fi Calling must be used to call 911, your call will be routed based on location data from your device and the Wi-Fi network. Service may be delayed or unavailable if first responders cannot locate you and you use Wi-Fi Calling at a location other than the E911 address you entered on your device. Whenever possible, please communicate your exact location to the dispatcher, including the campus and building.
