Network Outage – Brief Network Service Interruption – All Campuses

Resolved Alert:

The ISP has successfully repaired the fibers and all services are fully restored.

Alert Updates:

The ISP has identified a down fiber link on their end and is working to restore it.

ITS will send an all-clear once the service is restored.

Initial Alert:

At approximately 2:25 PM, George Mason University experienced a brief network (both Wired and Wireless) outage that lasted roughly ten minutes.

At this time, all services are running on our backup links and Network Engineers are working with our Internet Service Provider to resolve the issue.
