Employee Folder Reorganization: New Structure, Better Navigation

The Business Intelligence Services (BIS) team, in collaboration with the HR Technology Services (HRTS) team, has reorganized the MicroStrategy Human Resources Employee folder to enhance usability and streamline access to employee reporting. The updated structure features clearly labeled subfolders that group related reports together, making it faster and easier to find what you need.  This enhancement is part of our ongoing effort to support data-driven decision-making with intuitive and efficient tools.

The following new subfolders have been created in the Human Resources Employee folder:

  • Employee Job and Contact Info
    • Reports that provide employee job-related data across past, present, and future timeframes.
  • Employee Job Changes
    • Reporting on employee job change data, such as new hires and separations.
  • Employee Hours
    • Reporting related to Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance and leave hours.

The following existing subfolders complement the existing structure by grouping related employee reports alongside the following existing subfolders:

  • Flexible Work
    • Reporting on employee flexible work agreements.
  • Supervisors and Time Sheet Approvers
    • Reporting that provides employee supervisors and time sheet approvers’ information.

To help illustrate the improvements, here is a side-by-side comparison of the previous and updated folder structures:

Human Resources Report Enhancements

The following changes have been made to reports:

  • The Supervisor and TS Approvers reports have been modified to include Job eClass.
  • The Employee ID prompt has been updated to include NetID.  This will allow users to search for employees by NetID in addition to the already existing functionality of searching by employee name and G number.
  • The Employee Job and Salary History  report has been updated to allow users to search for up to 10 employees at a time, making it easier to compare data across multiple individuals in a single view.
  • The Separation Report has been updated to add Position Type to the PAGE-BY section, allowing users to filter and analyze data by position type for more targeted insights.

New Reports

As part of this initiative, the BIS team and HRTS teams have worked together to develop the following new reports:

  • Employee ACA Hours Dossier
    • Description: List of employees with work hours tracked for Affordable Care Act (ACA) compliance. Reporting includes the ACA year-to-date hours worked and hours remaining before reaching the annual limit.
    • Location: Patriot Reporting > Shared Reports > Human Resources > Employee > Employee Hours
  • Employee Leave Hours Eligible for Payout Dossier
    • Description: Employee leave information as of up to two HR Leave snapshot dates. It includes leave hours (e.g., beginning and avail balance) and estimated leave payout amount at both the summary level (e.g., by Emp Home Org) and detailed the employee level.
    • Location: Patriot Reporting > Shared Reports > Human Resources > Employee > Employee Hours
  • Employee Job and Salary History Dossier
    • Description: Employee job and salary history for one or more employee(s) within the selected date range.  Filter options include Job Primary Ind, Job Status (e.g., Active, Terminated), Job Change Reason Type, etc.
    • Location: Patriot Reporting > Shared Reports > Human Resources > Employee > Employee Job and Contact Info

Retired Reports

The Emp Job and Salary History Lookup grid report has been replaced with the more comprehensive and user-friendly Employee Job and Salary History dashboard. This new dashboard offers enhanced functionality and streamlined access to historical job and salary data, making it easier to analyze and compare employee information.
