Issues with sending and/or receiving images in Microsoft Teams

Resolved Alert:

Microsoft has reported that the issue with sending and viewing images in Microsoft Teams should now be resolved. A hotfix was deployed to address the issue, and monitoring of their systems since then has shown that the service has remained stable.

This issue impacted image messages within Chats, Channels and Meetings.

This issue may have impacted both the Microsoft Office 365 and MasonLive systems.

Alert Updates:

Microsoft is continuing to apply changes to their environment to help mitigate the issue with sending and viewing images in Microsoft Teams. At this time they believe some of the updates they have made should have improved issue however, the issue is not yet considered resolved.

Those experiencing the issue may see content appear as a gray box. Some may receive the error message “Failed to open an image”.

Other reported impacted functionalities include

  • Image downloads/previews may fail
  • Teams Graph API may be able to retrieve impacted content

This issue impacts image messages within Chats, Channels and Meetings.

This issue may impact both the Microsoft Office 365 and MasonLive systems.

Microsoft is reporting that some users may be unable to send or receive images in Microsoft Teams. Microsoft had previously reported this issue was resolved however, it has been reopened as the issue appears to have returned.

This issue impacts image messages within Chats, Channels and Meetings.

Microsoft is actively working on a mitigation for the issue.

This issue may impact both the Microsoft Office 365 and MasonLive systems.
