IPControl Maintenance to Address Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE)

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on the user:

Properly configured DNS clients with 2 or more DNS servers configured will not be impacted. The IPAM IPControl GUI will have a brief outage.

Only one IPAM (DNS, DHCP) server is upgraded at any given time. Production IPAM servers will be upgraded evenings, early mornings, or weekends to minimize possible impact. Our DNS servers have redundancy, and our DHCP servers have a failover peer for redundancy. Due to ongoing eduroam/mason-secure Wi-Fi troubleshooting, the pair of DHCP servers that support the Wi-Fi clients are not redundant so new Wi-Fi DHCP client requests will be impacted during the short period the DHCP service is down. Ongoing Wi-Fi service sessions will NOT be impacted.

Reason for the change:

ITS is applying patches to address Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE). (ID # 464006)
