Brief Wi-Fi & Wired Outages at Select Campuses & Locations on Wednesday, May 4

Impact of the changes on users: 

There will be intermittent outages, typically 5 to 10 minutes, of the Wi-Fi and wired networks during the maintenance period. Any service, application, or website hosted or authenticated at any of the Mason campuses or locations will also be intermittently unreachable during the maintenance period, including voice-over-IP (VoIP) and call center phones, and MS Teams calling. The following locations will be impacted:

  • Mason in Loudon/Signal Hil (21335 Signal Hill Plaza, Suite 130, Sterling, VA 20164)
  • SMART Lab (SMART Lab at Innovation, 9438 Innovation Loop)
  • Smithsonian-Mason School of  Conservation (1500 Remount Road, Front Royal, VA 22630)

Cell phone service will not be impacted. ResNet networks in the residence halls will be available; however, the following services will not be available in the residence halls: solstice pods; eduroam Wi-Fi; and, key card access updates.

Reason for the change:
