ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS
Cause: 

A server attached to the network in Research Hall was over-saturating the links to the Internet Service Provider, more than 3 Gpbs.

Resolution: 

While issue was occurring, the main internet connection was switched to Mason’s secondary Internet Service Provider (ISP) which allowed for a temporary increase in bandwidth. The internet link for The server was identified and bandwidth limits were put in place. Once bandwidth usage had stabilized, the switch was made back to the primary ISP.
