Web Page Editors

  • Adobe Dreamweaver (Windows, Mac)
  • Adobe Portfolio to showcase your portfolio (Windows, Mac)
  • Adobe Spark one-page websites, such as landing pages, newsletters, photo stories (Windows, Mac)
  • Adobe XD for advanced users (Windows, Mac)

Text Editors

Advanced web developers familiar with writing HTML might also find these programs useful:

  • Aptana Studio (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • BBEdit (Mac)
  • Brackets (Windows, Mac)
  • Notepad++ (Windows)
  • NVU (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • Sublime Text (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • TextMate (Mac)
  • TextEdit (Mac)

Image Editors

  • Adobe Illustrator
  • Adobe Photoshop
  • GIMP (Windows, Mac, Linux)

Note: See Adobe Creative Cloud for access to Illustrator and Photoshop, as well as other Adobe applications.

File Transfer

Of the above-mentioned software, only Dreamweaver and BBEdit have file transfer built-in. The following are file transfer applications:

  • Cyberduck (Mac)
  • Filezilla (Windows, Mac, Linux)
  • PuTTY (Windows)

The following browsers are available for download:

  • Microsoft Edge/Internet Explorer
  • Mozilla Firefox
  • Opera
  • SafariNote: Apple no longer offers Safari updates for Windows. Safari 5.1.7 for Windows was the last official version and is now desupported and outdated.
