How to Reassign Ownership of Scheduled Zoom Meetings or Webinars

These steps will assist if you require reassigning ownership of your Zoom Meetings and/or Webinars to another person in your office/department/team for the following reasons:

  • Leave Mason
  • New job at Mason
  • You need to change ownership to someone else

This will allow others to continue using these Meetings and Webinars* without any URL changes. This allows future recordings, transcripts, reports, registration**, etc. to be associated with the new host’s account. This can also be done to free up your own calendar, so you can host separate Zoom events.

  • * When transferring Webinars, the person to whom you are transferring must also have Webinar privileges. More info on Webinar, including directions to request it, may be found Zoom Webinar.
  • ** Reassigning ownership will require the original host to edit the Webinar. If you have scheduled a recurring webinar with registration, editing the recurring webinar will cause you to lose registration data, meaning registrants will have to register again. If you do not have a recurring webinar or do not have a recurring webinar with registration, there will be no data loss when transferring ownership. Zoom Meetings and Recurring Meetings with registration are not affected.

IMPORTANT

A host cannot have more than one Meeting or Webinar concurrently. Check with the New Owner to make sure they do not have scheduling conflicts with the meetings you are changing.

Instructions for New Owner

New Owner steps (the person receiving ownership meetings/webinars):

Step 1

Go to Zoom and log in with your Patriot Pass credentials.

Step 2

Locate and select Settings (in the left navigation).

Step 3

Scroll to the very bottom and locate Schedule Privilege.

Step 4

Select Add or Edit next to Assign scheduling privilege to.

Step 5

Enter the person’s FULL Mason email that you want to pass ownership to and allow the email to appear in the drop-down.

Step 6

Select their email and select Save.

Instructions for Person Transferring Zoom Meetings or Webinars

Step 1

Go to Zoom and log in with their Patriot Pass credentials.

Step 2
