How to Change the Order of Displayed Attribute Forms on a MicroStrategy Report

To Change the Order of Displayed Attribute Forms in a Grid Report

Step 1

Right-click the attribute header (the name of the attribute) and click Attribute Forms. On the list of available forms, a check mark indicates which are displayed.

Step 2

Click More… at the bottom of the menu. In the Attribute Forms window, all available forms are listed in a table. In the Show on Grid column, select the checkbox for each form you wish to display and clear the checkbox for any no longer need to be displayed.

Step 3

The forms will display in the order they are listed in the table. To change the order, click the desired form name to have it highlighted. To the right of the table, click the up or down arrow button to move the form. You can select and move any form to arrange them in the desired order. Click OK to save your changes.

To Change the Order of Displayed Attribute Forms in a Grid visualization for a Dossier

For Dossiers, the attribute forms will display in the order they are selected. This is different than what you see in Grid reports, and there may be some trial and error to get what you want.

For example, you may have a visualization that only displays a DESC form, but you want to display the ID and DESC form. Selecting ID will cause both forms to display, but because ID was selected after DESC, ID displays to the right of DESC. Follow the steps below to add ID and display it to the left of DESC.

Step 1

Right-click the attribute header and click Display Attribute Forms.

Step 2

On the list of available forms, check ID and uncheck DESC. Click OK.

Step 3

Right-click the attribute header and click Display Attribute Forms a second time and check DESC. Click OK.

This will display the attribute forms in the desired order.
