STU RACE REPORT – FEDERAL

The Business Intelligence Services (BIS) department has created a new attribute named Stu Race Report – Federal.  This attribute derives one race/ethnicity value using logic dictated by National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) and the U.S. Census Bureau (see https://nces.ed.gov/ipeds/report-your-data/race-ethnicity-collecting-data-for-reporting-purposes). This data element is defined to align with reporting submitted to federal and other external stakeholders. Federal reporting requirements dictate that Non-Resident Aliens (NRAs) are reported in their own category and their race is not counted in the other race categories. Also, Hispanic ethnicity is reported over any single or combination of races. For example, if a student reports themselves as Hispanic and Black, they will only be reported as Hispanic. This will yield DIFFERENT COUNTS than if using regular student race and ethnicity indicator attributes.

This is only available to authorized users only.
