Webex Meetings Recording Limited Availability

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on users:

During the maintenance period, hosts and participants may experience the following service impacts:

  • Network-Based Recorder (NBR): NBR recording WILL be available during the maintenance period, but processing and availability of new NBR recordings will be delayed for up to 24 hours after the maintenance is completed.
  • Network-Based Recordings Playback: Recordings that were made prior to this maintenance WILL NOT be available for playback during the maintenance period.

Reason for the change:

Vendor is updating Cisco Webex Meetings. (ID # 178742)

Scheduled Outage for Analog Phones – Science and Technology Campus

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on users:

Analog phones on the Science and Technology Campus will be intermittently unavailable from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 and Thursday, May 30. Fax lines will not be affected.

Reason for the change:

Information Technology Services (ITS) will be performing required maintenance to the analog phone servers. (ID # 177223)

Network Unavailable in Select Buildings

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the Change:
The wired and wireless networks in the following buildings will be intermittently unavailable during the maintenance period.

  • Carrow Hall
  • College Hall
  • Concert Hall
  • James Buchanan Hall
  • Krasnow Building
  • Music Hall
  • Northeast Module
  • Northeast Module II

During the planned maintenance, the wired and wireless networks, as well as Mason phones will be intermittently unavailable. Prior to the planned maintenance, please save all work that is network-dependent (i.e., files synced to OneDrive or saved to the M: shared drive) and plan accordingly for phone calls if you are using Mason phones. Cell phone service will not be impacted.

Reason for the Change:
ITS is removing old network switches and installing new Cisco switches. (ID # 176842)

  • Travel (travel.gmu.edu)

Reason for the change:

ITS is upgrading Symantec Endpoint, applying Microsoft Security Updates for May 2019, and changing the passwords on the servers. (ID # 176399 & 176521)

Banner Automatic Document Posting Suspended During End-of-Fiscal-Year Roll-Up

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of change on users:

Banner automatic document posting will be suspended while Fiscal Services completes end-of-fiscal-year processing of financial data (e.g., general ledger balances, encumbrances, purchase orders, budget, etc.). Please do not enter finance, payroll, and budget into Banner during this time period. Other Banner services will not be impacted and will be available.

Reason for change:

ITS is stopping the Banner automatic document posting while Fiscal Services completes end of fiscal year processing. (ID # 176555)
