Software Listings
ITS supports a variety of public domain and site-licensed software to the Mason Community. Individual departments purchase and administer the distribution of other licenses. ITS provides the following:
- Assist with software configuration
- Ensure compliance with applicable policies, regulations, and laws
- Realize potential cost savings
- Facilitate and expedite the procurement process with existing vendors
Software Purchasing & Licensing Information
The distribution and support of licensed software varies according to the application; specifics are provided on individual software information pages listed on the Application Software page. For software not listed on this page, contact IT Support at 703-993-8870.
Mason-Managed Computers Software Loads
Mason-Managed computers are pre-loaded with software and with the option to load additional software from their respective self-services.
Mason Self Service (Mac)
Mason Self Service is a Mac application on managed Mason-owned computers that are enrolled in Jamf Pro. Self Service allows users to download approved software on demand. If you would like to use Mason Self Service on your Mac, go to mac.gmu.edu to enroll.
Software Center (Windows)
Software Center is a Windows application on managed Mason-owned computers that are enrolled. Software Center allows users to download approved software on demand. If you would like to use Software Center on your Windows computer, go to Desktop Support page to enroll.
Classroom & Lab Software Loads
Mason has both virtual and physical lab spaces on several campuses for students to use. Hours of Operation and information about labs and lab services are available on the technology lab service pages.
