In an exciting start to the semester, Information Technology Services (ITS) recently announced an update coming to Patriot Web, George Mason University’s self-service site for students, faculty, and staff to manage their personal, administrative, and academic information.
This change includes a new modern interface with improved navigation and capabilities that will lay the foundation for future enhancements. It will also present simplified access to many of George Mason’s Single Sign-On (SSO) applications, including Banner, MasonLeaps, and Canvas.
The landing page will feature role-based notifications, a university calendar, and customizable cards on the home screen that allow users to create a layout that best supports their needs. Some options include bookmarking the latest news around campus, adding quick resources in your personal web links card, and even registering to vote.
Our community is ever-evolving, and this upgrade meets current demand while presenting scalable and adaptable solutions within its software. In anticipation of next steps, ITS has already begun exploring additional opportunities to shape the future of Patriot Web in collaboration with partners across the university to boost every Patriot’s journey.
To ensure the best experience, a soft launch of the new environment was made available for use on Monday, September 1. Users can access the updated version by selecting “Login-New” on the Patriot Web login page. When logging in for the first time, users will be presented with a walk-through on the layout and essential features upon login.
Any actions taken in the new environment will be reflected in the current version of Patriot Web, which will be disabled on Tuesday, September 30. To review details and see a preview of the new landing page, visit Patriot Web Upgrade Fall 2025.
