Virtual Lab Changes Coming December 2
November 20, 2024 3:00 p.m.On Monday, December 2, Information Technology Services (ITS) will consolidate our virtual desktop environments into a new single service, Patriot Virtual Computing and Labs (PVCL), powered by Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop.
PVCL will provide George Mason faculty, staff, and students with secure, remote access to academic applications and university services through an innovative and enhanced platform. The consolidation of these cloud-based services decreases costs, increases our scalability within the university, and strengthens our overall operational efficiency.
As a result of this change, the Citrix Virtual Lab (CVL) and Patriot Virtual Computing (PVC) will be decommissioned after exams are complete this fall. To prepare for the new environment that will be available in December, please review the following resources:
