Certificate Problem Impacting MASON-SECURE and eduroam WiFi

Resolved Alert:

ITS has resolved a certificate problem with Mason’s network authentication system that may have impacted some systems connected to MASON-SECURE or eduroam WiFi between about 12:00 pm on January 10 and 1:30 pm on January 11.

During that time, systems configured to verify the identity of network authentication servers before joining a network would not have connected, would have experienced delays while connecting, or would have required user intervention to complete their connection to MASON-SECURE or eduroam. These systems may also have presented or logged an error message about an untrusted server, certificate, or certificate authority.

Now that the problem is resolved, all systems that are correctly configured to join MASON-SECURE or eduroam will join without delay, prompts for intervention, or error warnings.
