Switch Maintenance May Affect VPN

Impact of the change on users:

To avoid any potential service interruptions to new or existing Virtual Private Network (VPN) connections, we plan to force failover of the active VPN to the Disaster Recovery (DR) site before the maintenance window. This will allow new VPN sessions to establish connections to the DR VPN. Following the maintenance window (once the Fairfax VPN management connection is brought back up), we will failover the VPN service to the Fairfax Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) VPN. If any existing connections have issues during the maintenance window, they can still connect to active ASA VPN in DR.

Reason for the change:

This maintenance involves vacating space from one cabinet to another to make room for the new equipment scheduled to be installed June 13-14. This maintenance should have no customer impact and should only affect data center staff machines and service monitoring. (ID # 498923)
