Residence Hall Network Outage: Kennedy & Truman

Impact of the change on users:

Users in the Kennedy and Truman will not be able to access the internet, the wired network, or any network-dependent systems during this time.

Reason for the change:

Information Technology Services (ITS), along with a vendor, is repairing damaged fiber connections between the Truman and Kennedy buildings. This work will restore proper network connectivity and redundancy.

Impact of the change on users:

Users in the affected areas may experience temporary loss of internet access, including both Wi‑Fi (wireless) and wired connections. The outage is expected to be intermittent, with individual disruptions lasting up to approximately 45 minutes during the maintenance window.

The vendor, Boldyn (formerly Apogee), is performing a planned network upgrade to improve overall network performance and reliability.

Buchanan and College Hall Analog Cable Cleanup

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on users:

Users in Buchanan and College Hall may experience brief, intermittent service interruptions during this maintenance window. In rare cases where an active cable must be replaced, disruptions may last approximately 5–10 seconds before service resumes.

Reason for the change:

ITS is performing an annual cleanup of older analog cabling to remove unused lines and improve the overall organization and reliability of the network infrastructure.

Salesforce (Hyperforce Migration)

Users may experience service disruption during this maintenance window. Salesforce will be placed in read-only mode. During this time, users can view information but will not be able to create, edit, or save records.

The vendor is performing a security patch and migrating Salesforce to Hyperforce infrastructure to improve system security, stability, and long-term performance.
