EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on users:

All equipment provisioned for power redundancy, with connections to both A-side and B-side power, should not experience a service interruption, as the B-side power bus will remain powered on for the duration of the installation.

ITS will be on-site to ensure that critical systems are monitored. As a proactive measure, high-density system racks (research) will be taken down to prevent any potential issues during maintenance.

All system administrators will be notified of the planned work and encouraged to verify their power configurations by Friday, May 31, and engage Facilities and Infrastructure Operations by telephone at 703-993-3355 if they have questions or anticipate any service problems.

Reason for the change:

ITS is upgrading switches to address vulnerabilities and ensure we remain up-to-date with the latest code. (ID # 493417 & 492563)
