Switch showed down on monitor system.

This had no impact on the residence hall network. The impact was to the Access Control network which allows for updates to the door locks. While this network was down there would have been no way for Housing to update the door locks in the building. The door locks would continue to function with the current settings installed.

A bad fiber path was found.

We used an available fiber to restore service. And reported the bad path to Network Infrastructure for repair.

Have enough engineers on-site to response to incident.
