ESRI ArcGIS Login Issues

When users attempt to login to any of the ESRI application portals, instead of receiving a standard Mason Shibboleth login, they receive the following error message: “The request cannot be fulfilled because the message received does not meet the security requirements of the login service.”

Initial symptoms: 

Users were attempting to login to ArcGIS Pro which requires a single sign-on to use the desktop application. Users then received the error message: “The request cannot be fulfilled because the message received does not meet the security requirements of the login service.” instead of receiving a standard login screen.

Users are unable to use ESRI applications or services. This impacted courses that depend on these applications as part of their instruction.

ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS
Cause: 

An update to the security parameters were not provided to Unicon.

Resolution: 

The proper security certificate was updated with Unicon.

Prevention: 

Currently this portal is maintained outside of ITS. We are currently exploring moving support inside ITS.
