Initial Symptoms
Users were either unable to login to the site (https://mymasonapps.gmu.edu) or after logging in they did not have the standard lab desktops assigned to them.
Root Cause Analysis
Cause
The Citrix Infrastructure servers were moved to a more appropriate OU within the Mason Active Directory as part of AD cleanup activities. The end result was the Service Account lost the necessary permissions and firewall policies were no longer applied.
Resolution
GPOs were copied over to the new OUs and the systems were restarted restoring service.
Prevention
All AD changes will have RFCs assigned prior to the change.
