Impact of the change on users:

On Tuesday, March 10, from 7 to 8 a.m., and again from 3 to 5 p.m., the following services will be unavailable while Facilities completes scheduled power work:

  • Network(Wi-Fi and wired)
  • Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones at the sites listed below,
  • tickets.com internal systems (walk‑up box offices at Center for the Arts and Hylton Performing Arts will not be able to process ticket purchases)
  • Possibly, some non-emergency analog services on the Fairfax Campus

Impacted campuses/buildings:

  • Center for Community Mental Health (9900 Main St.)
    Potomac Science Center
  • George Mason Townhouses (non-student)
  • Harris Theater
  • Point of View
  • Portions of the Fairfax Campus (possibly, non-emergency analog services, such as fax machines)
  • Smithsonian Mason School of Conservation

Reason for the change:

ITS services may be unavailable while Facilities completes scheduled power work.

MedicatOne will be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Wi‑Fi and Wired Network Maintenance – Townhouses

Impact of the change on users:

Wi‑Fi and wired network services at the Townhouses may experience intermittent outages lasting up to 20 minutes while maintenance is performed. During these brief interruptions, users may temporarily lose access to the internet and campus network resources.

Reason for the change:
ITS is performing this maintenance to maintain network systems stability and align with the vendor’s recommended guidelines. Regular upkeep helps ensure continued reliability and performance for users.
