Impact of the change on users:
There is no impact during the maintenance period. If your Webex client is not up to date, it will automatically upgrade and patches will be applied prior to hosting or participating in a Webex meeting after the maintenance period is complete. After the maintenance period, you will be able to work more seamlessly and enjoy features such as access to one drive from teams and access to chat while in Office.
Reason for the change:
ITS is enabling additional integration between Webex Teams and Microsoft Office 365, which will allow Mason staff and faculty to work more seamlessly with the collaboration tools in their Webex Teams accounts for live document editing, document sharing, and to have persistent chat in their Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications while we move to accommodate telework.
