EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on users:

Only one IPAM (Executive, DNS, DHCP) server will be upgraded at a time. Production IPAM servers will be upgraded evenings, early mornings, or weekends to minimize any possible impact. Our DNS servers have redundancy.

* Properly configured DNS clients with multiple DNS servers defined should continue to operate normally. 

Our DHCP servers have a failover peer for redundancy. However, due to ongoing Wi-Fi troubleshooting, the DHCP servers that support the Wi-Fi clients are not redundant.

♦ On Sunday, November 10, from 5 a.m. to 11 a.m., users will not be able to make new Wi-Fi DHCP client requests during the short period DHCP service is down. Ongoing Wi-Fi service sessions are NOT impacted.

♦ Authorized IPControl (GUI) users will not be able to make DNS or DHCP changes while the Executive upgrade occurs.

Reason for the change:

ITS is upgrading the operating system and IPControl and addressing security issues. (ID # 536580)
