Data Center Maintenance: PDU Shutdown
EXTENDED MAINTENANCE
Impact of the change on users:
The power distribution units (PDU) for several rows in the Data Center will be shut down during the maintenance period; however, any systems that have redundant power supplies and are configured to switch to the redundant source automatically should not experience an interruption.
IMPORTANT: SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS
The ITS Facilities and Infrastructure Operations Team sent details of this maintenance via email to system administrators. If you are unsure about the configuration of your equipment, as a precautionary measure, ITS recommends planning for a power interruption and, if desired, schedule a controlled shutdown of your equipment. To schedule a controlled shutdown or if you have questions about this maintenance, please contact the Facilities and Infrastructure Operations Team at sysop@gmu.edu or 703-993-3383.
For each interruption/installation, a follow-up notice will be distributed once the installation is complete and power is returned to its normal state.
Reason for the change:
PDUs in several rows will be shut down so electricians can safely perform work in the Data Center. (ID # 220496)
