Buchanan and College Hall Analog Cable Cleanup

Impact of the change on users:

Users in Buchanan and College Hall may experience brief, intermittent service interruptions during this maintenance window. In rare cases where an active cable must be replaced, disruptions may last approximately 5–10 seconds before service resumes.

Reason for the change:

ITS is performing an annual cleanup of older analog cabling to remove unused lines and improve the overall organization and reliability of the network infrastructure.

Salesforce (Hyperforce Migration)

Impact of the change on users:

Users may experience service disruption during this maintenance window. Salesforce will be placed in read-only mode. During this time, users can view information but will not be able to create, edit, or save records.

Please save all work before the read-only window to avoid losing changes.

Reason for the change:

The vendor is performing a security patch and migrating Salesforce to Hyperforce infrastructure to improve system security, stability, and long-term performance.

Banner Automatic Document Posting Suspended During End-of-Fiscal-Year Roll-Up

Impact of change on users:

While Posting is down, new documents will not be posted. They will post again once posting is restarted after the role.

Reason for change:

During the Fiscal Year End Roll, Fiscal Services requests that the posting process be stopped so that new purchase orders, journal vouchers, etc are not automatically posted to finance while they are processing the role.

Mobile Printing, EHS Training & CASO Services Unavailable

Impact of the change on users:

Pharos/Canon mobile printing, EHS Training (ehassistant.gmu.edu), and Card Access Security Office (CASO) services may be unavailable during the maintenance period.

Reason for the change:

ITS is applying Microsoft security updates.

Data Center PDU & UPS Maintenance

EXTENDED MAINTENANCE

Impact of the change on users:

The Data Center will be proactively placed on the generator during maintenance as a precaution to avoid any impact from an unexpected power interruption from public utilities. Once the maintenance is completed, we will switch back over to Dominion Power.

The UPS systems will be placed in maintenance bypass one at a time by the vendor technician for maintenance. After each UPS has been checked, the unit will be placed back online. All PDUs will remain online while units are checked individually.

Reason for the change:

The vendor is performing preventative maintenance on the PDU and UPS.
