Kyle Goodell and Ryan Sakai

Thanks to Ryan Sakai and Kyle Goodell for helping troubleshoot and restore my access expeditiously so that the IT Risk & Compliance team could continue to work on APA audit response items without interruption or delays.

Lisa Carr and Jose Siles-Gonzales

We experienced an incident on the Jan. 19 holiday. The user contacted me, but ITS had also detected it. Jose, who was on call, contacted me right away and consulted throughout that evening on Teams. The next day, I worked with both Jose and Lisa on restoring service to the affected individual. Restoration was performed much more quickly than I would have expected, and the individual was very grateful for that and for the clear communication that I passed on throughout. Thank you, Jose and Lisa!

Matthew Berlejung and Tracy Holt

I needed to replicate an existing form in Microsoft Forms for efficiency, but I was running into trouble getting the data file to store in a specific SharePoint site. Tracy responded to my request and quickly connected me with Matthew, who took the time to allow me to share my screen, walk through each step, and ultimately resolve the issue.

During our conversation, we also uncovered several incredibly helpful features in Microsoft Forms—not only easier ways to replicate forms directly to a designated location, but also useful functions related to storage, file management, and deletion.

Both Matthew and Tracy continue to impress me with their thoroughness and respectfulness. Nearly every interaction with them results in learning a new, innovative approach—whether directly tied to my original issue or something insightful we stumble onto during conversation. They are forward‑thinking, proactive, and consistently focused on ensuring customers feel supported, understood, and better equipped by the end of the experience.

Angeline Anteola and Trong Ho

Angeline and Trong are always super supportive and great team players. They went above and beyond to help me with infrastructure work planning during the early design phase for the summer 2026 refresh while I was dealing with system design and also dealing with personal matters. Glad to have both working with us!

-Rodrigo Alva

Eric Potter

He stayed late daily during our two-week crunch. He figured out issues the other two members of the team couldn’t on their own and reinvented several processes that were failing. Truly hard to put into words how all of this actually happened, but it was impressive and over the top.

The ITS Website Visual Update looks great! Good work to my colleagues, you should be proud. A staff senator reached out and complimented it (for which I took no credit), because the outward face of ITS is crucial for us to help our customers, and our customers are noticing. This project deserves higher praise than a Valued to the Core!

Lisa Carr

During winter break, we were notified of an urgent TDX ticket that needed to be resolved as soon as possible. Several contractors did not have the correct credentials to work on a George Mason project required during break. Lisa Carr stepped up and took on that request and was able to get them into the system for continuity of service. Thanks to Lisa, the team was able to continue without too much disruption. I appreciate the fact that Lisa was available to assist during time off to set up the service required. KUDOS!!

Matthew Berlejung and Mike Fuemmeler

During the winter break, we were notified of a TDX ticket involving a senior leader’s Zoom account. Mike and Matthew reached out to assist and sent instructions on how to resolve the issue. As it was break, the senior leader did not want to inconvenience the team and chose to troubleshoot once we returned, at which time the issue was resolved. Thanks to Mike and Matthew for their attention to a ticket during off hours. Great collaboration!

Nico Clemente

As the Director of Programs for Fiscal Services at George Mason University, I serve as the technical interface between Fiscal Services and ITS for many operational and administrative needs and act as the administrator for several critical systems and services. In this capacity, I frequently engage with Nico Clemente – either directly via email and Teams when I have a quick question or when I am unsure where to seek ITS support, or through service tickets that routinely result in Nico serving as my support contact. Nico consistently exemplifies what it means to be Valued to the Core through his communication, integrity, innovation, respect, and teamwork.

Communication – Nico communicates clearly, thoughtfully, and with a strong focus on shared understanding. He listens with an open mind and ensures that complex technical information is explained in a way that is accessible and actionable. When issues are complex or extend beyond a single support area, Nico takes the initiative to communicate directly with other ITS resources rather than simply redirecting me to submit another ticket or initiate a new request. Even when my questions are already answered through existing documentation or resources, Nico takes the time to guide me to the appropriate information and explain its relevance.

Integrity – Nico demonstrates integrity through accountability, consistency, and sound judgment. He takes responsibility for his work and follows through on commitments. Nico also carefully considers applicable policies and ITS guidance when responding to requests, ensuring that solutions align with established processes and procedures. When constraints exist, he thoughtfully explains those considerations and offers viable alternatives that meet ITS requirements while still addressing the underlying need.

Innovation – Nico approaches challenges with creativity and a solution‑oriented mindset. When an immediate resolution is not apparent, he clearly outlines next steps, researches options, and coordinates efforts to identify effective solutions. His willingness to explore alternatives and apply lessons learned contributes to continuous improvement in service delivery.

Respect – Respect is evident in every interaction with Nico. He consistently approaches requests with empathy, professionalism, and a strong customer‑service mindset. Nico treats each inquiry as valid, making interactions productive and positive regardless of complexity or urgency.

Teamwork – Nico thrives in a collaborative environment and serves as a reliable partner between ITS and business units. He strengthens cross‑team relationships by coordinating support, sharing responsibility, and ensuring issues move forward efficiently. His collaborative approach enhances trust and drives successful outcomes.

Through clear and proactive communication, principled decision‑making, innovative problem solving, respectful engagement, and strong collaboration, Nico Clemente consistently lives our core values and is truly Valued to the Core.

Rhonda Baumgartner

Rhonda consistently goes above and beyond for our team. During the winter break, she proactively monitored Appworx jobs every day and ensured issues were resolved, even though it wasn’t part of her assigned duties. Her strong sense of ownership and responsibility truly keeps our processes running smoothly. Rhonda also has deep and broad knowledge of our finance systems and processes, and she is always willing to explain, share ideas, and offer thoughtful suggestions. As a teammate, I’m incredibly grateful for her support and the valuable insights she always provides when our team and I need them. She has always been a remarkable member of our team.
