Service Summary

Before construction begins, ITS must survey construction sites and mark communication lines in order to protect critical communication circuits and infrastructure pathways from drilling or excavation damage.

Surveying and marking communication lines prior to the start of construction prevents unintended damage, telecommunications service interruptions, and major expenses that could be incurred by the contractor.

It is the contractor's responsibility to request a survey of all sites prior to the beginning of construction. Two working days’ advance notice should be allowed to assure that qualified staff is available to do the marking.

This service is limited to university property.
