IP Address Management (IPAM) accounts on the IPAM system are available for users that control a large number of machines or make a lot of DNS updates. This service is intended to be used to add users to existing Roles in the IPAM system. The user making the request should know the Role they are requesting access to.
Depending upon the needs, ITS can allow users to:
- Update MAC addresses for existing devices
- Change DNS name
- Create new ManualDHCP (static) DHCP entries for hosts
Getting This Service
Select Request IPAM Account to:
- Create a new Role, associated IPAM admins, and Role Admins
- Add/Remove Users
- Change user groups or permissions
The IPAM system has detailed instructions on how Admins should perform most tasks. Deviation from these instructions could result in account suspension.
The user's supervisor must approve the request; afterward, the designated Role Admin must approve the request.
This service is available 24/7, excluding planned outages, normal maintenance windows, and unavoidable events. Maintenance windows are Sundays from 7 to 11 a.m. but may be extended to 2 p.m. if needed. If maintenance is required outside of these hours, it will be announced on the Alerts & Bulletins page.
