Service Summary

Cisco Umbrella is a cloud-based tool that protects Mason users by blocking them from visiting websites that threaten to compromise Mason’s technology resources or defraud users.

If Umbrella determines a site you are attempting to reach is potentially malicious, you will reach the Umbrella block page and unable to access the website.

Newly Seen Domains

If a domain you recently set up is being blocked by Cisco Umbrella, please wait 1-3 days to allow Umbrella to properly categorize it and automatically unblock it. If there is an urgent need to add the domain to our allowlist, click the Request Allowlist Review button to the right to submit a request.

Key Features

Cisco Umbrella blocks users from accessing malicious websites. It will block users from sites where malware, ransomware, phishing, and botnets are present. Umbrella will redirect users from sites where cyber threats are present to a page explaining to users the site is malicious.

 

Getting This Service

This service is provided to all managed Mason-owned computers. Devices must be managed through MESA or Jamf to receive this service. Users whose systems are not managed can receive this service by getting their systems managed. Click the Request Managed Enrollment button to submit a request. 

Unmanaged devices (e.g., personal computers, mobile devices, etc.) will be protected while the devices are connected to the Mason network.
