Dear Patriots,
>
>Effective November 19, 2019, you will need to use either the Duo Mobile App (Duo Push or Passcodes), a Yubikey, or Bypass Codes as your second factor when prompted. Telephone calls and SMS text messages will no longer be available as options to verify your identity with 2FA, as they are no longer considered secure. This change was previously rolled out to all new enrollees in 2FA effective July 23, 2019.
>
>Are You Ready for This Change?
>If you have the Duo Mobile App enabled on your phone, use a Yubikey, or have Bypass Codes; you are ready for the transition. If not, you will need to take action to get ready.
>
>How to Get Ready?
>If you rely on phone calls (e.g., answer phone and “press 1”) or text messages for authentication, you can prepare for the transition. You should log in at https://2fa.gmu.edu and complete the following:
>
> * REORDER: Already have a Duo Mobile-enabled device (smartphone/tablet) registered; reorder your devices to put it first in your list, so it becomes your default option
> * REACTIVATE: Use your smartphone for 2FA already, but not the Duo Mobile app; reactivate the device and link to Duo Mobile
> * REGISTER: Have a smartphone/tablet that isn’t enrolled in Duo Mobile; register it and set it as your primary device
> * RECOVER: Prepare for an emergency, and ensure you can recover your access to 2FA; add an emergency bypass email account
>
