A recent Firefox release (version 61) has caused audio issues with Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. Users can turn on their microphone and see audio levels moving as they speak, but the audio is not sent to other users and is not recorded.
There are several workarounds:
- Use Google Chrome (other browsers can also be used but require Flash)
- Use an app: The free Blackboard app (for students) and Blackboard Instructor app (for faculty) provide access to Collaborate Ultra and allow users to turn on their device’s microphone and camera.
- Collaborate sessions have an associated phone number. Once in the session, click the menu at the top left to access the phone and pin number.
