How to Set Up Avaya Voicemail for Mailboxes on Menus/Shared Lines

New Telecommunications Vendor

Mason’s current telephone system is end-of-life, and with a workforce increasingly dispersed, a new solution is needed. Mason has selected a new telecommunications vendor, Vonage, Inc, which delivers advanced features (e.g., mobile applications, ring/accept calls on any device, presence awareness) and integrates into Mason’s tools (e.g., Office 365). Access your voicemail for the first time:

Step 1

From on-campus: Dial 3–7900 (or press your message key)

From off-campus: Dial 703-993–7900

You will hear, “CallPilot, mailbox”

Step 2

Enter your five (5) digit extension (3-xxxx).

Step 3

Press #

Step 4

Enter your temporary password (12 plus your 5-digit extension number).

Step 5

Press #

Change your personal options

To change your password:

Step 1

Press 8 for Mailbox Commands.

Step 2

Press 4 for Password Change.

To change or record your personal verification or name:

Step 1

Press 8 for Mailbox Commands.

Step 2

Press 2 for Greetings.

Step 3

Press 9 for Personal Verification (Record Name).

To change or record your standard (personal) greeting:

Step 1

Press 8 for Mailbox Commands.

Step 2

Press 2 for Greetings.

Step 3

Press 1 for External Greetings.
