After the file has completed downloading, close the download window.

Step 9

Step 12

Installation Requires a Restart Window. Managed (automatic updates) systems will force the required restart with a display of the 5-minute countdown for the forced system restart.

Step 13

ITS recommends scheduling live updates so your antivirus software is always up to date. After installation, click Change Settings > Client Management – Configure Settings button > LiveUpdate tab > Ensure the checkbox is selected by Enable automatic updates and the frequency and time are at least every 4 hours.

Remember, installing antivirus software is the first step. The second most important step is to ensure that your virus protections are up-to-date. Periodically verify that the virus definitions are up-to-date by launching the application. If you aren't sure, click the LiveUpdate button.

ITS also recommends maintaining the daily active scan to ensure it is running as scheduled. You can check the last scan time by clicking Scan for Threats and checking the Last Scan column.
