Step 1
Open System Preferences.

Click Sharing.
Step 3
Your computer name will show and can be edited if you have sufficient rights.
Note: Default setting is a letter dash then the serial number. If you edit it, keep in mind this is the name other users on the network will see.
Warning: If you have a Mason-owned Mac, do not change your Mac’s computer name.
