Service Summary

The Citrix Virtual Lab provides remote access to academic software. Students and faculty with a VPN connection can access the necessary software needed to support online coursework.

Faculty and staff looking for virtual desktop resources for business or controlled research use should use the Patriot Virtual Computing environment instead.

VPN Requirement

Users accessing the Citrix Virtual Lab will be required to use Mason’s Virtual Private Network (VPN) before you can log in. See the Getting This Service section for details.

Graphics-Enhanced Virtual Machine (VM)

Faculty may request an enhanced environment with improved graphical performance for themselves, their classes, and their students (e.g., specialized for 3D rendering applications).

Getting Started

Accessing this service requires a connection to the George Mason University VPN.

  • If you are already a VPN user, log in to Cisco AnyConnect Client with your Mason NetID and Patriot Pass Password.
  • If you need VPN access, see the instructions on Virtual Private Network (VPN) to download the Cisco AnyConnect client from the Related Downloads box on this page. Once you have the client installed, with your NetID and Patriot Pass Password, log in to the VPN.

Faculty may request high-performance VM for themselves, their classes, and their students.
